Carla Mena de Rodriguez

Carla Mena is a seasoned professional with a remarkable career spanning nearly 25 years in the world of ballet and over two decades of leadership in marketing. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Mrs. Mena began her dance journey at the age of four, quickly establishing herself as a prodigious talent. By age 10, she was training at the prestigious Margo Marshall School of Ballet and became a company member of the City Ballet of Houston. She was later selected to study at the Boston Ballet School and her training expanded to elite institutions such as the Washington Ballet and Keyla Ermecheo Ballet School (Venezuela). Mrs. Mena’s illustrious dance career includes performances with renowned international companies, such as the Metropolitan Ballet Theater of Venezuela, Youth Ballet of “Teatro Teresa Carreño,” Washington Ballet, and many more. She has graced the stage as a principal dancer and lead roles in iconic productions, including Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Don Quixote, Paquita, La Bayadère, Le Corsaire, and Dracula. Her dedication and artistry earned her numerous accolades, including recognition as one of the best students and ballerinas of her generation. She is a graduate of the esteemed Vaganova School, specializing in pedagogy, methodology, composition, and choreography. Beyond her artistic endeavors, Mrs. Mena has also excelled academically and professionally. She holds two bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Advertising, a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in International Business from the University of Miami, and a certification in Integrated Marketing Communications. Leveraging over 20 years of marketing experience, Mrs. Mena has built a reputation as a dynamic and accomplished marketing strategist. She has held multiple leadership roles, developing and executing innovative marketing programs for diverse industries. Currently, she serves as Vice President Marketing Digital Strategist at a Fortune 500 company in the United States, while simultaneously leading as an owner of 2LIFEHEALTH® Carla Mena’s unique blend of artistic excellence and business acumen reflects her passion for both creative expression and strategic innovation, marking her as a true leader in every field she pursues...

Year-Round Programs

At DBS, each Division combines the expertise of our faculty with a unique curriculum to provide a well-rounded, intensive training program. Students build a strong foundation in classical technique while developing artistry, musicality, and a deep appreciation for dance, all within a supportive, loving and health-conscious environment.

Our faculty, with extensive professional performance experience and diverse pedagogical backgrounds, focus on personalized instruction to meet the needs of every student, inspiring both technical excellence and creative growth..

Levels & Tuition

  • LEVEL I
    Schedule Classes are held twice a week, 1 hr class each, focusing on ballet, technique, and stretch/strength training. Once students develop the necessary muscle strength and readiness for increased training, they will be invited to attend Level II. Tuition and Fees $200 per month (Siblings receive a discount)
  • LEVEL II
    Schedule Classes are held three times per week, 1 hr class each, focusing on ballet, technique, and stretch/strength training. Once students develop the necessary muscle strength and readiness for increased training, they will be invited to attend Level III. Tuition and Fees $200 per month (Siblings receive a discount)
  • LEVEL III
    Schedule Classes are held 3 days per week, 1 hr class each, focusing on ballet, pointe, technique, and stretch/strength training. Once students develop the necessary muscle strength and readiness for increased training, they will be invited to attend the Apprentice program. Tuition and Fees $200 per month (Siblings receive a discount)
  • Apprentice Program
    Schedule Classes are held 4 days per week, 1.5 hrs class each, focusing on ballet, pointe, technique, and stretch/strength training. Once students develop the necessary muscle strength and readiness for increased training, they will be invited to attend the Advanced program. Tuition and Fees $250 per month (Siblings receive a discount)
  • Advanced Program
    Schedule Classes are held 4 days per week, 1.5 hrs class each, focusing on ballet, pointe, technique, and stretch/strength training. Tuition and Fees $250 per month (Siblings receive a discount)
  • Youth Ballet Company
    Schedule By invitation only. Train 5 days per week. Focusing on ballet, pointe, technique, stretch/strength training, variations, pas de deux and character dance. Tuition and Fees $290 per month (Siblings receive a discount)

While most rehearsals typically take place during training hours, students will be required to practice outside their regular schedule as performance dates approach.
